Hey friend,

Enjoy!

TEACHING 📚

Hate using Photoshop's Lasso tool every time you want to remove a background when creating a new thumbnail? Have no fear, we like to introduce you to remove.bg this week - a tool that removes a background within seconds, literally. Click here to see examples on their website. Keep in mind, they have a freemium service (25 cutouts per month), so use the tool wisely unless you'd like to pay for their service (IMO is worth it!).

SHARING 💬

We have noticed a lot of creators on YouTube not using their end-screens nor utilising it to its full potential. Creators need to make sure every single video includes an end screen and end cards. End screens have 20- seconds, so optimise it and use it wisely.

An effective way is to add your end screen inside your content, rather than having your content first then your outro/end screen at the end. This will help with your overall watch time and people are more inclined to watch through your whole video and go through your other videos too. A good example of this is a friend I've helped with in this particular video (Shout out to Christine) as you can see her video flows well with her outro. Implementing this will have your content one step ahead of the majority of creators out there.

INSPIRATION ✨

Doing X platform and turning it into a fulltime job is going to be a tough and lonely journey, there is only a handful of people that gained 'fame' very quickly but for the average Joe, it's going to take 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years.. heck it may even take 5+ years before you can even reach your definition of success.Let's have a look at Marques Brownlee for example, his niche is tech videos and currently has over 10+ million subscribers, and he has been on YouTube for nearly 11 years now. What does he have that an average content creator doesn't have? Innovation and perseverance if you look at the image below when he first started YouTube he created golf videos then ventured off to creating tutorial videos for windows.

1-2 years into his channel he then started creating tech reviews here and there, mixed with his tutorial videos. The quality of his videos started to improve video after video and after around 3 years into his channel creation, he started focusing on doing tech reviews. Again, his production of each video was getting better and better, can you see a pattern here?He was innovating, finding things that would work and upload that onto his channel. Obviously, till this day he creates tech videos, so another tip is do something you LOVE doing. A good question to ask yourself is "if I had all the money in the world would I be doing X?"Stay consistent with your uploads, this is something I see A LOT, creators that stop and give up soon after they upload their first, second, or even fifth video because they didn't get enough views or no one isn't sharing their content. (side note: if you want to get into the Youtube algorithm, you need to be posting videos within the 28-day cycle)

Always, always innovate, you need to rework your mind and ask yourself what could I do to make your video better than my last? and stick to a schedule. If you really want to make it on X platform you need to discipline yourself and time block (will discuss in the next dose) because, without discipline, there is no consistency, without consistency you're setting yourself up to fail.

Promise me that you're not going to be like my friend (more like acquaintance really...) he has been on YouTube for 10 years now, he wants to do it fulltime BUT he doesn't follow anything that I have mentioned above and he has created over 700+ videos on his one channel alone (he has 3 channels with a total of 1000+ videos) and he has only 1k subscribers. Yikes.

That's it for this week! (well from last week actually 😛)
